The trip from Frankfort to Manistee was only 25 miles but the waves were building and they were coming at us from the side which made the boat waddle. The boat didn't pound up and down but it was rolling from side to side. Everything was strewn over the cabin and it wasn't comfortable. After a while I started doing "Crazy Ivan's" which is like tacking on a sailboat. I would turn into the waves for a while and the turn around and let the waves push me while at the same time moving in the direction of the target. If you look closely at the GPS tracks you will see what I mean. Like I said it was only a few hours and we arrived in Manistee. The marina is up the river and the docks are right on the river. We usually like to stern in because our power cord is in back. The cord attached to the boat is about 75' so we can usually still get it to the dock even if we bow in. The dock was very long and there were rocks up against the sea wall so we could only go up so far. The cord didn't reach so I had to get our extension cord out which was buried under our extra lines. The extension cord is 75' and weighs a ton but it was worth the effort. Ginny did laundry while my sister and I walked into town and the grocery store. It was a nice small town main street with stores and restaurants. We went into one store and in the back they had big walk in humidor with every kind of cigar imaginable. They also had a cigar bar which was pretty cool. We got some stuff at the grocery store and went back to the boat. We had cocktails on "Escape" and then went to dinner at a local place which met all of my requirements for dinner which are being close and having meat. When we got back to the boat we invited the neighbors over and we talked until dark and then to bed. It was a long day and we were leaving in the morning so we were pretty tired.
