Kingston City Docks
June 10, 2012
We left Croton on Hudson and the Half Moon Bay on Sunday morning early with "Kismet", "Marc's Ark" and "One September" headed for Kingston, NY. The weather was great and the water was still but there was a ton a debris in the water so we had to be careful. We saw some very pretty scenery including West Point, some old bridges and some nice little light houses. We pulled into Roundout Creek a little after noon and docked at the city docks which are right downtown. The docks are a little rough and we had some power issues but we finally got enough power to run 2 of our air conditioners. Ginny and I went to lunch at the Ship To Shore which was pretty good. The other boats docked and then we went to the local maritime museum. We had happy hour on "One September" and then everybody went to dinner. I went back to the boat and watched TV because I was still full from lunch.

Albany Yacht Club
June 11-12, 2012
We left Kingston early on Monday morning looking to go another 55 statute miles to Albany, NY. The weather was not as good as the day before but the wind was behind us all day so it was OK. The current was also in our favor so we made very good time and got to the Albany Yacht Club around noon. We got fuel, pumped out and docked. This time the power was great but the river was pretty rocky so we moved around a lot. I walked to a local grocery and got a few things we needed.
Our friends Ginny and Gene from "Free 2 B" came and visited us. We have not seen them since Fort Myers and it was great catching up. We would have loved to have them stay the night but they live fairly close and Skipper, their dog, was waiting for them so they drove home. We had drinks and all walked to a restaurant for dinner. They were a wealth of information about the canals and what was ahead for us.

We had planned to go to Waterford on Tuesday but the weather was not good so we are staying in Albany another day. We were going to take a cab to Wal-Mart but a very nice person who lives on his boat let us use his truck instead. The guys did some shopping at the store and then went to West Marine to look around. It is raining now so we are just sitting around the boat watching TV.
